Birthday Resolutions

Growing up, returning to school each September was more of a new year than when I hung a new calendar on the wall. Birthdays also held that magic.

My birthday is almost here. This year, I'm making a few resolutions, hoping to regain that magical feel of a brand new year.


House & Home
- move to a new apartment
- continue to sort, clear and release what no longer serves me

Health
- introduce more veggies into my diet
- practice yoga again

Creativity
- write a little every day (fiction/journal/blogs/whatever)
- learn to play the ukelele

Spirit
- find new ways to refill my well
- continue GT seasonal studies

ScriptFrenzy Update

Well, I have fallen off the script bandwagon. Could be due in part to the subject I chose. I love the story and want to do more with it but a script is not quite right.

I do need to get back to writing. I've been focusing on some other parts of my life and the writing has slipped further down the list than I like.

Perhaps one of my birthday resolutions will be to write a little every day. (What? Doesn't everyone make birthday resolutions?)

Reason for stopping: It's getting late and I have things I need to do at home tonight.

Wordage I liked: "My son came to see me before he left on his first journey across Trella." Julie kept knitting as she spoke. "He was not happy. I'm led to believe you had something to do with that."

Things discovered: Sometimes conversations need to be awkward.

I had hoped to write many words over the long weekend. Other things kept me away from the keyboard - genealogy research (my own, not my characters), apartment things, sleep - but I did talk with C about what has been happening in the story and what I think I'm going to have to do to get this story told. I have two weeks of vacation coming soon (separated by a week at the office) during which I hope to add many words to the novel.
